Measuring your trimester by Gestation is the most common method. This is most likely what your doctors will be referring to when they discuss your trimesters. Dates are calculated based on your Last Menstrual Period.

Congratulations, you are now officially halfway through your pregnancy. Although the average length of gestation is 40 weeks, it is still considered within a normal range to have your baby 2 weeks either side of this.
You may find yourself thinking about your labor and delivery now. At 20 weeks, it becomes obvious that this baby has to come out one day. A very small percentage of women are terrified of labor and build up anxiety about it. If this is you, speak with your midwife or doctor about your concerns.
Your baby's skin has formed both layer (outer and deep skin tissue) and sweat glands are now forming. The breathing passages are now complete and the voice box now starts to show similar movements to that of crying after birth.
Developing a heat rash under your breasts, in your armpits or between your legs? Your inner body temperature is higher than normal so you're probably more sweaty than usual. Wear cotton underwear next and make sure the sizing is right.
Wear comfortable shoes that ensure you are stable when you walk. Many women find they don’t fit into their usual shoe size during the 2nd trimester - it's due to those hormones again!
If you haven't done so already, now is a good time to find a childbirth class to educate you about labor and more, meet other parents-to-be and possibly create friendships for both you and your child in the years to come.
